Hisar Educational Foundational School
Hisar Educational Foundation Schools (Hisar Schools) is a private, coeducational pre-K-12 school nestled in a suburb of Istanbul. The School was established 1996 to provide a new approach to teaching children in Turkey with an emphasis on student-directed and bilingual learning.
Hisar Educational Foundation Schools consist of pre-school (2 years), primary school (8 years), and High School (prep+4 years) divisions. Hisar Schools opened its doors in 1996 to pre-schoolers and first graders. Adding a grade level each subsequent year, Hisar's first high school graduation will take place in June 2008.
Hisar Schools has great faith in its vision of training competent, morally upright, productive individuals who will be leaders in the 21st century.
 The broad curriculum at the school conforms to the requirements of the Turkish Ministry of Education. However, the goals and methods deviate from the more traditional approaches of learning found in most Turkish schools. Student-centered, active learning is the underlying philosophy of the Hisar Schools.
 Hisar Schools, with its progressive, student-centered educational philosophy frequently serves as a model for ongoing educational reforms initiated by the Ministry of Education, under whose jurisdiction Hisar operates.

Hello! My name is Onur. I am fifteen years old and I am a prep student at Hisar Schools. I am from İstanbul. I'm a friendly and helpful person. I'm very interested Hip Hop culture. I really like graffiti. In my spare time, I play computer games and playstation, I spend my time with my friends and I do graffiti.

Hello! I'm Tugay. I am fourteen. I am from Istanbul. I have brown eyes, brown hair and I'm brown :-). I' friendly and sportive person. I play basketball, very well and I like sports very much. In my spare time, I play basketball or football, I spend with my friends and I play games on my computer or playstation. Also, I'm very interested in rap music.
When our teacher told us about this project I was willing to be a part of it. We parepared all materials together with my friends. Thanks for our partner schools for sharing all the informations that we learned from them.

Hi, I'm Elif Kara. I'm a computer teacher in Hisar Educational Foundational Schools. This is my second year in teaching. Also this is my second experience about EU Dialogue Award Project.
"The Soul Of Our Cities" is the project that we collaborate with my prep class students in our school; with Miss Narcisa Petrescu and her students from Romania and with Miss Marina Karapandić from Croatia.
The project was a different and a good experience for my students and also for me. We learned a lot about the history of Bucharest and Glina. We compared our city lifes with these cities
And speacially; we gathered a very good friendship with these schools.
