The Team - Srednja skola Glina, Glina / Croatia
|
High School Glina, as you may have concluded from its name, is the only high school in Glina. For that reason it is a combined school of 4 year and 3 year educational programs. Four year programs prepare students for university education and three year programs prepare students for a career in chosen profession. It has two different 4 year programs: gymnasium which aim is exclusively university education and economist which goal is university or professional career. Three year programs are shop assistant, autoelectician, electrician and electromechanic.
At this moment High School Glina has 255 students in 13 class departments and 30 teachers. A number of students in each department varies from 17 to 28. This is one of the advantages which ensures the quality of educational process and individual approach to every student. Another positive factor is good space and material conditions which enable school to work in a morning shift only which leaves enough time and space for preparations and extra-curricular activities.
A very important factor on the way to quality is teaching staff. The teachers of High School Glina are mostly highly motivated individuals who are ready to cooperate and permanently improve their teaching skills. The fact that proofs this claim is that there is one professor councilor and five professor mentors, which are only two grades of promotion in profession in the Croatian school system.
There are also various extra-curricular activities: drama group, art group, dance group, school quire, debate club, school sports club and general culture workshop. Depending on each program a lot of field trips and excursions are organized every year.
Few years ago different school projects were started. This school year we have two school projects: Reverse Roles Day and Glina - Pictures From the Past. In order to share and expand our knowledge we decided to join EU Dialogue Reward project. Since this is our first international project our intention is to open the door of European cooperation and communication.

A lot of students and teachers were involved in realization of this project, beside those who were in the project team and introduced themselves below. Students in the team were responsible for producing, gathering, editing and translation of materials, and did most of the work.
Teachers directly involved in realization of the project are:
- Mrs. Marina Karapandžic, school pedagog (councilor/advisor) is responsible for starting and coordinating the project,
- Maja Stanojevic, English teacher, edited and corrected all text materials and without her time and effort it wouldn't be possible to finish this project.
Special thank to all the teachers who supported the project and helped the team with their guidance and knowledge:
- Tatjana Šimundic, history teacher
- Bosiljka Šimic, geography teacher
- Ana Rizmaul, art teacher

We would also like to thank the teachers from Romania and Turkey, Mrs. Narcisa Petrescu, Mrs. Adriana Ivascu and Miss Elif Kara and their teams, for cooperation and technical support. It has been a very valuable experience for all of us to make this project with you.
